From the point of view of Minister of State for Culture Claudia Roth, the climate crisis must also have consequences in culture.

"Active environmental and climate protection includes measures from the ecological conversion of cultural and media facilities to forward-looking disaster control," said the Green politician on Friday in Berlin during a discussion event on rising energy prices in art, culture and media.

The energy crisis cannot be allowed to become a culture crisis.

"There are an incredible number of initiatives underway, a lot has already happened, so that valuable practical experience and the necessary know-how are already there," said Roth.

At the same time, there is a lack of more experts everywhere.

“So what could be more obvious than training yourself?” asked Roth.

"That's why we want to create educational initiatives for operational ecology in cultural institutions together with the affected institutions."

Sustainable management also includes targeted investments in ecological renovation.

"Our goal is to protect cultural institutions against climate-related damage," said Roth.

Roth announced that he would be inviting to regional conferences starting next year.

Cultural institutions could exchange concepts and ideas and network.
